Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four siblings. While she had a childhood aspiration to become a journalist, it wasn't until high school that she began modeling. Following her move from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials and commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. She starred in 1981 as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actor who has appeared involved in numerous TV movies, and dramas. Her professional career has been more successful than her private life. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism throughout her life and had two failed marriages. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her only son.
